Positioning, mechanical skill, cooldown management, cooldown tracking. Characters that bypass these things don't teach you the actual game of overwatch. It's ok for the skill floor to have characters that bypass one or two of these things. Take mercy for instance. You can bypass mechanical skill (aim). She still has to manage her rez, know when she can go for rez safely etc. Characters like moira bypass all of these things. You learn absolutely nothing about the core game of overwatch because you bypass all of things you should be practicing. I tell everyone who asks me how to get better to stop counterswapping and stop playing moira. Learn how to deal with the bs and force yourself to work on positioning and aim as you play. Holding down suck and yeeting orbs at random on cooldown then disappearing every 6 seconds doesn't make you better. Ok rant over.

to answer the braindead take.in short 1) 5v5 doesn't prolongue the game like 6v6. 2) it has the same concept if 1 die the other team steam roll (unless ur bad) 3) tank is a fuckin meat shield with little dmg nobody wanna play. since you said they are weaker NOBODY WANNA PLAY THEM leading to 4) long ass queue time cause nobody wanna play tank because they are literally meatshield. i can literally go on and on but ima keep it short

All they had to do was split tank into brawler(no shield) and sgield tanks, then make it so that if one tank player on a 6 man team picks one then the other has to pick the other. Thats double shield solved and tanks that are in ow2 who were originally designed for double tank actually have a place.

I’m tired of seeing amazing games release. And then just slowly die because of the devs balance choices. also the move to 5v5 was wild. And the wasted time on pve was INSANE. at this point I’d almost rather them just scrap pvp and go make the pve game instead. Because it’s just terrible. Haven’t played the pst two seasons now.

Those collection of clips in the beginning made me miss OW1 so much , there were so many big pop off hype moments in OW1 gameplay, and was extremely exhilarating and amazing

It is the matchmaker bro…you complain about garbage teammates all the time, there’s a reason why you get uneven Match ups and why it’s hidden from everyone how it works. People don’t magically all average 50% after they level out.

Just remove those tanks 😂 obviously we cant do that so i actually think open queue is eventually gonna be the outcome as we lose to many tank players but ideally you would honestly just remove those tanks, or in the case for hog you revert him back ti when he could be punished and than hes fine, give him the 1 shot and just leave him as squishy so hes only ever played by the hog mains. Orisa just needs to lose fortify in exchange for something that makes her more mobille like a charge or i always liked the idea if giving her a flat moving buff like soldier but you increase her jump height too which would create a horse like experience 😂 and mauga just needs to be removed as hes legitimately the worst design ive ever seen inna video game. But idk about 6v6, thats risky asf because if we go back to 6v6 and the devs dont balance it right, and tank just becomes less fun with more demand than youre essentially gonna kill the game. You gotta be dam certain thats the right move, and its why i think the devs are gonna ultimately go open queue after these ow like games drop and the players drop for tanks in overwatch further, than we will expose how unbelievably op supports actually are in relation to the rest of the heros, since role queue allowed for the roles to be balanced amongst themselves but when you gotta balance the supports along side the dps and you got all these new broken supports that have been released to keep up with the standard brig and bap made, well i think its gonna immediately drop us inna goats meta, and than the devs will eirher have ti balance like their lifes depend on it, or the games gonna fall off hard.

Sam, I disagree with you in a sense. Blizzard was always great at taking someone else's idea and creating something casual but deep that was fun. I have played Warcraft, Warcraft 2, Warcraft 3, Star Craft (legitimately put in over 10k hours as a kid staying up til 3 and waking up at 7 for over a year) World of Warcraft, Diablo 1-3 and Diablo Immortal. The problem they have now is they don't know how to innovate anymore. They need to listen to the fanbase and dev that crap. They don't need to tow the line but actually hear whats wrong and fix it fundamentally from a developer pov. The Steve Jobs quote is so apt. I honestly feel like they are the next Bioware. Making the game an mmo like game would have fleshed it out further than any cinematic or trailer. Being able to do what they were promising in 2019 would have brought the game to new heights but they never had the talent to really pull it off. A game of that size would easily take 600 people and Overwatch was never funded that well.

Game are also being built differently because of how they make money from them. When they make a game today, they cant give players the best ingame, because the best is what they plan on making money off. Diablo 4 for example, created bigger towns/world, not to make is feel better, but to open the door for mounts that can be sold. So to open that door, they had to make the game worse on purpose. Diablo 3 alpha was also had more customization in skills and gear enchants, but then they had to open the door for console sales, so they made it a 4 button mash game. Item trading was also changed to auction house, where they were hoping to get real money cut on all sales going on in the game.
